WEICOME TO THE PINETOP/LAKESIDE COMMUNITY CENTER GARDEN.
Developed by the Late Bloomers PLCC Garden Committee.
The PLCC Committee Mission
The mission of the Garden Committee is to develop a garden area for PLCC members and their friends and family where they can experience the healthy activity of growing plants and trees plus a place to relax and socialize in an out-door area at the CENTER
THIS LAST YEAR/2022 !!!!!
The year of 2022 has been a busy year for the Late Bloomers PLCC Garden Committee, this is what we have accomplished:
*Built a landscaped drive into the garden area.
*Developed the following activity areas:
- Arches installed going into activity areas.
-Raised garden beds for vegetables and flowers
-Nature path.
-Retreat areas with seating and tables along nature path.
-Picnic area.
-Fruit Tree Orchard.
-Common flower beds
*Built 11 raised beds and reserved them for PLCC members.
*Installed a timed dripper system for all planted areas.
*Barrier fence / gate built to keep creatures out of the garden.
*Finished a nature path and 5 retreat areas along path.
*Planted 12 apple and plum trees along the nature path.
A Note from chairperson Gordy Lange
It takes a team to build something special. In this case, the team was the PLCC Garden Committee, financial support from the Board of Directors of PLCC and donors who provided the monies to develop the Centers Garden. All the volunteers that came forward to help build the Garden including those from the ShowLow Garden Club and also those individuals that we were surprised had Master Gardner qualifications who could advise us.
THIS COMING YEAR/2023!!!!
In April we will start taking reservations for the raised beds. There will be a plot map at the Garden entrance showing the raised bed # and location. Reservation sign-up sheet will be in the Centers dining room hallway. Reserve your bed early!! They were all reserved last year.!! Grow veggies or beautiful flowers!!
